Exod 20:1	^aAnd ^bGod spoke all these words, saying,	Καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους λέγων	וַיְדַבֵּר אֱלֹהִים אֵת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה לֵאמֹֽר׃ ס
Exod 20:2	^c“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.	Ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεός σου, ὅστις ἐξήγαγόν σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας.	אָֽנֹכִי ^{▼▼ אָֽנֹכִיאָֽנֹכִי} יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ ^{▼▼ אֱלֹהֶיךָאֱלֹהֶי/ךָ} אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִיךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבֵּית ^{▼▼ מִבֵּיתמִ/בֵּית} עֲבָדִֽים ^{▼▼ עֲבָדִֽיםעֲבָדִים}׃

Exod 20:5	^agYou shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am ^aha jealous God, ^aivisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,	οὐ προσκυνήσεις αὐτοῖς οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς· ἐγὼ γάρ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεός σου, θεὸς ζηλωτὴς ἀποδιδοὺς ἁμαρτίας πατέρων ἐπὶ τέκνα ἕως τρίτης καὶ τετάρτης γενεᾶς τοῖς μισοῦσίν με	לֹֽא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה ^{▼▼ תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶהתִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה} ^{▼▼BHS has been faithful to the Leningrad Codex where there might be a question of the validity of the form and we keep the same form as BHS.} לָהֶם ^{▼▼ לָהֶםלָ/הֶם} וְלֹא תָעָבְדֵם ^{▼▼ תָעָבְדֵםתָעָבְדֵ/ם} כִּי אָֽנֹכִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֵל קַנָּא פֹּקֵד עֲוֺן אָבֹת עַל־בָּנִים עַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁים וְעַל־רִבֵּעִים לְשֹׂנְאָֽי ^{▼▼ לְשֹׂנְאָֽילְ/שֹׂנְאָ/י}׃
Exod 20:6	but showing steadfast love to thousands ^{▼▼Or to the thousandth generation} of those who love me and keep my commandments.	καὶ ποιῶν ἔλεος εἰς χιλιάδας τοῖς ἀγαπῶσίν με καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὰ προστάγματά μου.	וְעֹשֶׂה ^{▼▼ וְעֹשֶׂהוְ/עֹשֶׂה} חֶסֶד ^{▼▼ חֶסֶדחֶסֶד} לַאֲלָפִים ^{▼▼ לַאֲלָפִיםלַ/אֲלָפִים} לְאֹהֲבַי וּלְשֹׁמְרֵי מִצְוֺתָֽי׃ ס
Exod 20:7	^as“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.	οὐ λήμψῃ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἐπὶ ματαίῳ· οὐ γὰρ μὴ καθαρίσῃ κύριος τὸν λαμβάνοντα τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ ματαίῳ.	לֹא תִשָּׂא אֶת־שֵֽׁם־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ לַשָּׁוְא כִּי לֹא יְנַקֶּה יְהוָה אֵת אֲשֶׁר־יִשָּׂא אֶת־שְׁמוֹ לַשָּֽׁוְא׃ פ
Exod 20:8	^at“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.	μνήσθητι τὴν ἡμέραν τῶν σαββάτων ἁγιάζειν αὐτήν.	זָכוֹר ^{▼▼ זָכוֹרזָכוֹר} אֶת־יוֹם ^{▼▼ יוֹםיוֹם} הַשַּׁבָּת ^{▼▼ הַשַּׁבָּתהַ/שַּׁבָּת} לְקַדְּשֽׁוֹ ^{▼▼ לְקַדְּשֽׁוֹלְ/קַדְּשׁ/וֹ}׃ ^{▼▼BHS has been faithful to the Leningrad Codex where there might be a question of the validity of the form and we keep the same form as BHS.}

Exod 20:10	but the ^bgseventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. Exod 20:11	For ^bvin six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.	ἐν γὰρ ἓξ ἡμέραις ἐποίησεν κύριος τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ κατέπαυσεν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ· διὰ τοῦτο εὐλόγησεν κύριος τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν ἑβδόμην καὶ ἡγίασεν αὐτήν.	כִּי שֵֽׁשֶׁת־יָמִים עָשָׂה יְהוָה אֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֶת־הַיָּם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּם וַיָּנַח בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי עַל־כֵּן בֵּרַךְ יְהוָה אֶת־יוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת וַֽיְקַדְּשֵֽׁהוּ׃ ס
Exod 20:12	^bw“Honor your father and your mother, ^bxthat your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.	τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα, ἵνα εὖ σοι. γένηται, καὶ ἵνα μακροχρόνιος γένῃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τῆς ἀγαθῆς, ἧς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι	כַּבֵּד אֶת־אָבִיךָ וְאֶת־אִמֶּךָ לְמַעַן יַאֲרִכוּן יָמֶיךָ עַל הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ נֹתֵן לָֽךְ׃ ס
Exod 20:13	^by“You shall not murder. ^{▼▼The Hebrew word also covers causing human death through carelessness or negligence}	^{▼▼LXX: Exo.20:15}οὐ φονεύσεις.	לֹא ^{▼▼ לֹאלֹא} תִּרְצָֽח ^{▼▼ תִּרְצָֽחתִֿרְצָח}׃ ס

Exod 20:16	^cl“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.	οὐ ψευδομαρτυρήσεις κατὰ τοῦ πλησίον σου μαρτυρίαν ψευδῆ.	לֹֽא־תַעֲנֶה בְרֵעֲךָ עֵד שָֽׁקֶר׃ ס
Exod 20:17	^cm“You shall not covet ^cnyour neighbor’s house; ^coyou shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”	οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσεις τὴν γυναῖκα τοῦ πλησίον σου. οὐκ ἐπιθυμήσεις τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ πλησίον σού οὔτε τὸν ἀγρὸν αὐτοῦ οὔτε τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ οὔτε τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ οὔτε τοῦ βοὸς αὐτοῦ οὔτε τοῦ ὑποζυγίου αὐτοῦ οὔτε παντὸς κτήνους αὐτοῦ οὔτε ὅσα τῷ πλησίον σου ἐστιν.	לֹא תַחְמֹד בֵּית רֵעֶךָ לֹֽא־תַחְמֹד אֵשֶׁת רֵעֶךָ וְעַבְדּוֹ וַאֲמָתוֹ וְשׁוֹרוֹ וַחֲמֹרוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר לְרֵעֶֽךָ׃ פ
Exod 20:18	Now when all the people saw ^cpthe thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid ^{▼▼Samaritan, Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate; Masoretic Text the people saw} and trembled, and they stood far off	καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἑώρα τὴν φωνὴν καὶ τὰς λαμπάδας καὶ τὴν φωνὴν τῆς σάλπιγγος Καὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ καπνίζον· φοβηθέντες δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἔστησαν μακρόθεν.	וְכָל־הָעָם רֹאִים אֶת־הַקּוֹלֹת וְאֶת־הַלַּפִּידִם וְאֵת קוֹל הַשֹּׁפָר וְאֶת־הָהָר עָשֵׁן וַיַּרְא הָעָם וַיָּנֻעוּ וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ מֵֽרָחֹֽק׃
Exod 20:19	and said to Moses, ^cr“You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”	καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς Μωυσῆν Λάλησον σὺ ἡμῖν, καὶ μὴ λαλείτω πρὸς ἡμᾶς ὁ θεός, μήποτε ἀποθάνωμεν.	וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה דַּבֵּר־אַתָּה עִמָּנוּ וְנִשְׁמָעָה וְאַל־יְדַבֵּר עִמָּנוּ אֱלֹהִים פֶּן־נָמֽוּת׃
Exod 20:20	^csMoses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to ^cttest you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”	καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς Μωϋσῆς Θαρσεῖτε· ἕνεκεν γὰρ τοῦ πειράσαι ὑμᾶς παρεγενήθη ὁ θεὸς πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ὅπως ἂν γένηται ὁ φόβος αὐτοῦ ἐν ὑμῖν, ἵνα μὴ ἁμαρτάνητε.	וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־הָעָם אַל־תִּירָאוּ כִּי לְבַֽעֲבוּר נַסּוֹת אֶתְכֶם בָּא הָאֱלֹהִים וּבַעֲבוּר תִּהְיֶה יִרְאָתוֹ עַל־פְּנֵיכֶם לְבִלְתִּי תֶחֱטָֽאוּ׃
Exod 20:21	The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the ^cuthick darkness where God was.	εἱστήκει δὲ ὁ λαὸς μακρόθεν, Μωϋσῆς δὲ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν γνόφον, οὗ ἦν ὁ θεός.	וַיַּעֲמֹד הָעָם מֵרָחֹק וּמֹשֶׁה נִגַּשׁ אֶל־הָֽעֲרָפֶל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ פ
Exod 20:22	And the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the people of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have ^cvtalked with you from heaven.	Εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Τάδε ἐρεῖς τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ καὶ ἀναγγελεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ Ὑμεῖς ἑωράκατε ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ λελάληκα πρὸς ὑμᾶς·	וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה כֹּה תֹאמַר אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אַתֶּם רְאִיתֶם כִּי מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם דִּבַּרְתִּי עִמָּכֶֽם׃
Exod 20:23	^cwYou shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.	οὐ ποιήσετε ἑαυτοῖς θεοὺς ἀργυροῦς καὶ θεοὺς χρυσοῦς οὐ ποιήσετε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς.	לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן אִתִּי אֱלֹהֵי כֶסֶף וֵאלֹהֵי זָהָב לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ לָכֶֽם׃
Exod 20:24	An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. ^cxIn every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and ^cybless you.	θυσιαστήριον ἐκ γῆς ποιήσετέ μοι καὶ θύσετε ἐπ' αὐτοῦ τὰ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ τὰ σωτήρια ὑμῶν, τὰ πρόβατα καὶ τοὺς μόσχους ὑμῶν ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐὰν ἐπονομάσω τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἥξω πρὸς σὲ καὶ εὐλογήσω σε.	מִזְבַּח אֲדָמָה תַּעֲשֶׂה־לִּי וְזָבַחְתָּ עָלָיו אֶת־עֹלֹתֶיךָ וְאֶת־שְׁלָמֶיךָ אֶת־צֹֽאנְךָ וְאֶת־בְּקָרֶךָ בְּכָל־הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אַזְכִּיר אֶת־שְׁמִי אָבוֹא אֵלֶיךָ וּבֵרַכְתִּֽיךָ׃
Exod 20:25	^czIf you make me an altar of stone, ^dayou shall not build it of hewn stones, for if you wield your tool on it you profane it.	ἐὰν δὲ θυσιαστήριον ἐκ λίθων ποιῇς μοι, οὐκ οἰκοδομήσεις αὐτοὺς τμητούς· τὸ γὰρ ἐγχειρίδιόν σου ἐπιβέβληκας ἐπ' αὐτούς, καὶ μεμίανται.	וְאִם־מִזְבַּח אֲבָנִים תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־לִּי לֹֽא־תִבְנֶה אֶתְהֶן גָּזִית כִּי חַרְבְּךָ הֵנַפְתָּ עָלֶיהָ וַתְּחַֽלְלֶֽהָ׃
Exod 20:26	And you shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness be not exposed on it.’	οὐκ ἀναβήσῃ ἐν ἀναβαθμίσιν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριόν μου, ὅπως ἂν μὴ ἀποκαλύψῃς τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην σου ἐπ' αὐτοῦ.	וְלֹֽא־תַעֲלֶה בְמַעֲלֹת עַֽל־מִזְבְּחִי אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־תִגָּלֶה עֶרְוָתְךָ עָלָֽיו׃ פ
